Whew! I am back. The holidays are almost behind me; I say almost because I am here waiting…watching the news. I will turn the channel to wait with anticipation for the ball to drop, heralding in the new year. Nicely cozy and warm! No fanfare, no festivities. My hubby is in bed, it is just me, the cat, a drink to toast the new year and my laptop!

As I reflect on the past year, it was kind to us…no major health issues, no earth-shattering news came our way. Life was status quo and that can be a good thing. We always have wants but also needs and being a responsible adult, I focus on the needs first. Is it always fun? No! But, when you have wants, you have dreams and that is what life is all about striving to fulfill dreams.

When we turn on our television or read a magazine, look at our social media, surf the internet, whatever you do for entertainment, we will see advertisements for ways to improve our lives, looks, or bodies. New year, new you. But, why wait until the new year? In the first place, I feel we should continually seek ways to improve our mind, body, and soul. Read a book, take a walk, join a gym, and most importantly pray, reflect, or find Zen. However you prefer to improve yourself, just do it. Moreover, there is no need to wait for a new year.

As a matter of fact, every day is an opportunity to strive to be a better version of ourselves. The greatest thing about all of us is that we are unique and beautiful. Remember, physical beauty is in the eye of the beholder, inner beauty is always in style. Be kind, be real, and make a resolution every day to be a new you!

Furthermore, change is constant whether it be good or bad, it is a part of life. How we choose to embrace it makes all the difference in how we navigate through it.

Happy New Year…May 2026 be your best year ever and may you find something beautiful in every day. Celebrate the small things, breathe, take life slow, enjoy the moments with family, make memories, and above all…celebrate you!
