Truth can be a terrible thing to face; it CAN set us free in more ways than one. Our mind can be at peace once we accept the truth, we can reassess our lives and improve OR we can choose to be angered by it. But NO ONE should ever lose their lives for speaking the truth.

As is evidenced by the past week and the death of Charlie Kirk, the truth seekers came out in force, the naysayers and haters also came out in force. In analyzing both sides, it appears that society is divided in Christianity, some believe, some don’t, and some are non-committal. What has happened? Have people become immoral, have they decided that the Bible is just another outdated history book? Have they become narcissistic? I believe a combination of these things.

So many young people go away to college and think….I am free, I can do as I please. They haven’t really experienced a life of real consequences. Oh sure, holding allowances, being grounded for doing something parents didn’t want them to do, this is child’s play in comparison to real consequences of an action that cannot be reversed. At times, the disrespect they show to elders and those in authority is astounding and so many think that they can pick and choose what to do in class, in employment, and in life. Many cannot even have a debate, they answer a question with a question, this is not a debate and not a way to prove your point. Talking over someone is not a debate.

Watching Charlie’s reels is proof of how disrespectful some of these young people are, they refuse to see beyond what they perceive as the truth. He merely wanted them to explain their stance or belief. Oftentimes they could not.

In this last attempt to impress Christian values on young people one deranged individual ended his life with a single bullet. Cowardice? I think so.

In that moment those of us that believe Charlie was destined for martyrdom, died and was accepted into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. He was a man of faith, a man that had a REAL relationship with God. He left this earthly life behind and left a beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters to mourn his loss as well as many, many loving fans!

Rest easy, Charlie. You may be gone, but your message will live on as so many have vowed to carry your message and make America stronger by spreading the Word. You certainly were a true disciple…and thank you for helping see me through my personal faith struggle. I believe the truth has set you free…I wish this for every one of us struggling with our faith.

Rest easy Charlie, you may be gone but you will not be forgotten!
